Abstract

There are some capabilities that must be developed to face the 21st century when students studying physics, one of them is scientific reasoning. Physics learning requires the process of reasoning, it will improve students scientific reasoning ability.

This research aims to analyze the students scientific reasoning ability in physics learning. The sample was 67 students of 10th grade in Public Senior High School 7 Malang academic year 2017/2018. The instrument of scientific reasoning test is two tiers multiple choice with 13 questions and reliability 0.5.

The result shows that score of students scientific reasoning in the concrete reasoning level. Based on the result, teacher have to improve the students scientific reasoning ability. Therefore, teacher need to give the innovative learning strategies that can improve scientific reasoning.
