Reliability And Validity Of A Mathematics Preparation National Assesment In Junior High Schools Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta, Indonesia Abstract This research is aimed to evaluated the reliability and validity of mathematics preparation national assessment in junior high schools. The mathematics preparation national assessment was administered to the nineth grade student of many schools. The reliability of students response across the instrument and validity for inference drawn from the scores on the assessment to the graduation standart competence were examined. The consistency and the dimensionality of the assessment was assessed throughout use of Kuder Richardson correlation and confirmatory factor analysis, and then the generalizability of the derived scores was examined throughout the generalizability theory. The result of Kuder Richardson correlation from the assessment was in 0.81 range from 0.00 until 1.00. Confirmatory analysis indicate that all of observable factors had a significance influence to standart competence. The assessment, however, is interested in assessing mathematics competence of student to national assessment; Therefore, these coefficients are not alarmly low.
