Abstract
Target-task problem solving learning model have been implemented to get an overview high school students cognitive and physics problem solving ability improvement in static fluid concept. Methods of research that has been carried out using pre-experiment design with one group pretest-posttest. Twenty two tenth grade students of a senior high school in Tasikmalaya is involved. Data is collected using a written test instrument (pretest and posttest) for students cognitive and problem solving ability, observation sheet to observe the feasibility study, and the attitude scale for students responses to the learning implementation. We used 20 multiple-choice questions ranged from C1 to C4 Blooms cognitive to measure students cognitive ability and 3 open-ended questions to measure student problem solving ability. The teacher and student activities in this implementation were all carried out as expected. The result shows that implementation of Target-task problem solving learning model relatively can improve students cognitive and problem solving ability in static fluid concept with <n-gain> on the students cognitive ability is 0.62 and <n-gain> on the student problem solving ability is 0.66. In general students respond positively to this learning implementation. These results indicate that the Target-task problem solving learning model is one of alternative learning models that can improve the high school students cognitive and problem solving ability of physics students
