Abstract
The professional competence of a teacher is inseparable from early education and teaching experience. So too with the competence of physics teacher. One of the courses that support the professional competence of teachers is a deepening course in physics. This research was conducted to find out the relationship deepening physics courses towards professional competence of physics teachers. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The sample of this research is the whole physics teacher on study program physics education graduate year 2010 up to 2013. Data research results obtained based on the assessment of the competence of professional teachers who are associated with the performance and value of the test subjects for study of physics have been obtained. Results of the study showed the relationship between the improvement of the professional competence of physics teachers with the acquisition value performance and test subjects for study of physics. This shows that the professional competency of the one affected by the expertise of the physics and how to teach the physics content, and it exists in the subjects for study of physics.
